Lady Bird – our film for October

We are pleased to announce that our October film will be Greta Gerwig’s wonderful Lady Bird.  This is a coming of age film, reflecting the director’s own upbringing in Southern California and her relationships with boys, family, and friends.  This is Gerwig’s first film as director but she has previous acting and screenwriting credits, often in collaboration with Noah Baumbach (eg Frances Ha, Mistress America).  It is a very warm and accomplished debut, for which she received an Oscar nomination.
